Patty Arndt joined the board in 2022 after purchasing a home in Stephentown in 2021. The first group she joined after moving to Stephentown was the Stephentown Library book club. She was thrilled to be asked to join the Board of Trustees and feels that volunteering is a great way to meet people and get involved.
Patty has worked as an accountant in the not-for-profit sector for most of her professional life and currently works for Catholic Charities as a grants manager. She raised her family in Southern Saratoga County where weekly trips to the library were a staple. "Once a month we would go to 'the big library' in Saratoga Springs where we would pick a country and check out books and movies about that country; fairy tales, myths, legends and cook books. It was a great way to learn about the world. I did not always have access to a public library as a child. I am glad that my kids did."
“There are so many ways to access information today, but I think it is important to have a physical place where the magic happens. I am so impressed by the volume and variety of programs offered at our library in Stephentown."
