Story Time Corner

Welcome to SML’s Story Time Corner! Here you will find information all about the the books, songs and rhymes, and activities that we explore at Story Time. You will also find news and updates about themes for the week’s Story Time here. Story Time at SML is held on Wednesday mornings at 10:00. We have a group for our older preschool age kids and a group geared toward our toddlers and babies. We love to sing songs, read books, play with our friends, make crafts, and explore the world together. New families are always welcome to join us!

News and Information

11/21/2023–We will not have Story Hour this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Story Hour will resume the following week, Wednesday 11/29.

As we kick off the holiday season this weekend there are some fun festivities happening in Stephentown.  Start your holiday shopping by supporting our local crafters and vendors at the Stephentown Library Holiday Market on Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.  Don’t miss the Stephentown Lighted Parade on Saturday.  The parade starts at 5:30pm and ends at Veterans Park with the tree lighting and a visit from Santa.

11/14/2023–This week we will be reading and learning about Thanksgiving and what we are thankful for. Sometimes it is hard for young children to understand the concept of being thankful.  It is easier to ask them who and what they love and explain that is what we are thankful for.

We will be doing two crafts this week, one of which involves food.  Please let us know ahead of time or through email if you or your child has any food allergies.  In the spirit of Thanksgiving we also invite you to bring a snack to share.
We will not be holding a story hour on Wednesday 11/22.

10/17/2023–Reminder!! Tomorrow we will have a special guest at story hour!  Jen Peabody, a Stephentown firefighter and EMT, will bring the Stephentown ambulance and teach us about what she does.  This can be a valuable experience for little ones.  If an ambulance does ever have to visit your house they will know that they are there to help you. Children are invited to bring a stuffed animal tomorrow so that they can be checked out.

10/11/2023–Next week we will have a special guest visit from the Stephentown EMS. We will get to explore the ambulance and will be taking care of some “patients”. Don’t forget to bring a patient (stuffed animal) with you!
